30 new COVID cases in Russell County last week, area hospitalizations on the rise

The Kentucky Department of Public Health reported 30 new COVID cases in Russell County last week.

Neighboring Pulaski County was among the counties with the most new cases in the state with 163 new cases.

Hospitalizations in the area are on the rise due to COVID-19 as well.

In the Lake Cumberland region, which includes Russell, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Taylor and Wayne counties, the department recorded 15 people hospitalized with COVID, including 3 in the ICU. That’s up from 5 hospitalizations two weeks ago.
