Brandon Aaron Blakey, age 41, of Elizabethtown

Brandon Aaron Blakey, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Baptist Health Hardin, in Elizabethtown.  He was 41 years of age.

Brandon was born in Elizabethtown on June 29, 1980, son of Gary and Mary Aaron Blakey.  He was a graduate of Central Hardin High School and was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.  Before starting a family, Brandon played, wrote, produced and recorded his own music.  He attended French Valley Methodist Church, of Russell Springs, and College Heights Methodist Church, in Elizabethtown.

He married Kayla Lawless on September 11, 2019, on Cocoa Beach.  They have one son born to their union.  Brandon was a good son, a loving husband and a devoted dad.

Brandon is survived by his wife, Kayla; their son, Carson Dean Blakey; his mother, Mary Aaron Blakey; his sister Janna (and Carl) Watt, of Jacksonville, Florida; his nieces, Natalie Watt, of North Carolina, and Cara Watt, of Colorado; his uncles, David (and Vickie) Blakey, Dennis (and Dana) Blakey, Lonnie Blakey, Keith (and Gina) Blakey, and Junior (and Deidre) Blakey; his aunt, Belinda (and Bill) Hoover; his father-in-law, Steve Lawless; his mother-in-law, Angie Lawless; sisters-in-law, Renee (and Timmy) George, Melissa (and Mick) Burton, and Ashley (and Phillip) Wilkerson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Dean Blakey; his paternal grandparents, Rev. L.G. and Reba Blakey; and his maternal grandparents, Philip and Alice Aaron.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., CST, Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, in Russell Springs, with Rev. David Blair officiating.  Musical selections will be performed by The Blakey Quartet.  Burial will follow in Blakey Cemetery at Hayes Chapel.

Visitation will be held after 11:00 a.m., CST, Sunday, until time for services.
