Lakers go 1-2 at CU Classic, begin district tournament tonight

The Laker Baseball team went 1-2 over the weekend at the CU Tiger Alumni Classic, being shutout twice with a 6-0 loss to DuPont Manual and a 4-0 loss to Marion County.

The Lakers win came via an 11-1 win over Thomas Nelson.

In that win, Austin Bartrug picked up the win, pitching six innings and giving up 8 hits, 1 run, walked 2 and struck out 4.

The Lakers finish the regular season with a 23-6 overall record.

The Lakers will begin district tournament play tonight at home, hosting the Metcalfe County Hornets.

The Hornets enter at 2-24 and winless in district play.

First pitch is at 5:30 p.m. with the winner clinching a spot in the 4th Region Tournament.
