Sewer work to begin soon on several roads in Russell Springs

A nearly $420,000 project to rehabilitate a failing area of Russell Springs’ gravity sewer system will soon get underway.

That was the word at Thursday night’s city council meeting as Public Works Director Terry Russell gave a status update on the Kentucky 80 Gravity Sewer Rehab Project…

The work is needed to eliminate infiltration and inflow of groundwater into the city’s sewer, which, in turn, will be a cost savings measure for the city.

A pre-construction meeting is set to take place this coming Monday with work expected to take 90 days or so to complete once it begins.

The Division of Water and the Lake Cumberland Area Development District have also signed off on the project as it is being funded through the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority’s state revolving fund loan program.
