The Storm Prediction Center has made some adjustments in the severe weather threat for this afternoon.
Russell and surrounding counties have been moved out of the Slight Risk, and now placed in a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for severe weather this afternoon. The rain and clouds this morning have helped to reduce the dynamics needed to support strong to severe storms. The threat however is not a zero. A few storms that form this afternoon still have the potential to become severe.
Latest hour-by-hour radar shows a possible broken line of showers and storms making its way through the area between 2 and 5 this afternoon.
The main threat is damaging winds, but I cannot rule out an isolated tornado or two. Make sure and stay tuned to Laker Country 104.9 for more information.
