Corps of Engineers holds workshop at LCSP

Last week, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff at Lake Cumberland hosted an environmental stewardship workshop at Lake Cumberland State Park that included participants from both the Corps’ Great Lakes and Ohio River Division, North Atlantic Division, and Northwestern Division.

Park Ranger Tyler Matthews organized the four-day training session that featured presentations from the Nashville District Hydropower Program, and included field sessions with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Participants learned about the Corps’ Environmental Stewardship mission, with topics covering program administration, master planning, policy and procedures, shoreline management, compliance, outgrants, and invasive species.
