A familiar face will be returning to be the top executive at Russell County Hospital.
Scott Thompson was officially hired at a special-called meeting of the hospital’s board of directors Friday evening.
The board unanimously approved a contract to hire Thompson, who will officially take over May 1.
Thompson is no stranger to Russell County Hospital, serving as CEO for the healthcare facility in 2018 and 2019.
Thompson will take over for the recently-retired Patrick Branco, who announced his retirement earlier this month.
