Russell County has 4% unemployment rate

Russell County’s unemployment rate currently sits at 4 percent, Adair County is 3.6 percent, Casey 3.3 percent, Pulaski 3.6 percent, Cumberland 2.8 percent, Clinton 3.6 percent, Wayne 3.7 percent, and Taylor County at 2.7 percent, according to the latest monthly figures from the Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.

Woodford County recorded the lowest jobless rate in the state at 2 percent while Magoffin County recorded the state’s highest unemployment rate at 9 percent.

Unemployment rates fell in 119 counties between December 2020 and December 2021 and remained at 8 percent in Breathitt County. The comparable, unadjusted unemployment rate for the state was 3.4 percent for December 2021, and 3.7 percent for the nation.
