The 8th grade Laker Basketball team advanced to the conference tournament semifinals with a 36-34 win over Green County Thursday night.
The RCMS Lakers were led by Max Davis with 16 points, followed by Maddox Shearer who hit a late three-pointer in the win and finished with 9 points. Kinnett Wills and Noah Bennett added 4 points each, followed by Webber Wilson with 2 and Walker Stephens with 1.
The 8th graders will take on Clinton County Monday evening for the conference championship. Tip-off will follow the 7th grade championship game and is expected to be around 6 p.m.
The 7th grade team saw their season come to an end with a 48-30 loss against Green County.
Tyson Stille led the Lakers with 9 points, followed by Alex Norton with 8, Gabe Browning with 7, Myles Davis with 3, Tanner Stringer with 2, and Jace Skaggs with 1 point.
