Lakers Win Two in a Row, Defeat Hart and Wayne

Gosser's 32 leads to second consecutive victory

The Russell County Laker boys basketball team won two games over the weekend to improve their season record to 3-12.

The Lakers went to Munfordville on Friday night to take on Hart County in a game that was scheduled on Thursday after the Taylor County game was canceled. The Lakers won the game, 55-45.

Then, on Saturday night, the Laker boys were at home to take on Wayne County as part of the Kay Morris Classic. Wayne County entered the game with a record of 8-9. Freshman Mayes Gosser had an outstanding game for the Lakers, scoring 32 points and grabbing 8 rebounds, both team highs. Owen Loy had 15 points and Trace Stringer added 11.

The Laker boys will be on the road this week as they travel to Cumberland County on Monday, Monroe County on Thursday, and Clinton County on Friday. All three games can be heard on Laker Country 104.9 WJRS with Jeff Hoover and Derek Aaron.
