The Lady Laker basketball team took on Whitley County on Saturday afternoon at Russell County High School as part of the Kay Morris Classic. The Lady Lakers came up short, losing to the Whitley County squad by a score of 48-37. Hannah Yates had 11 points and 7 rebounds, while Sophie Shearer had 9 rebounds and 7 points.
The Lady Lakers are now 6-12 on the season and will be on the road this week, playing at Cumberland County on Monday night in a district matchup, then on the road Thursday to Tompkinsville to take on Monroe County, and then at Clinton County on Friday.
