Masks will be optional net week in Russell County Schools.
On Thursday, the state dashboard had Russell County in orange for the COVID incidence rate, and a board policy set a few weeks ago states that if the county is in orange on the state dashboard on Thursday, the following week will be mask-optional.
Masks will still be required on buses per the CDC order and at the Area Technology Center due to an order from the state.
As of Wednesday, there were 30 students who tested positive for COVID or were quarantined in Russell County Schools, along with two employees.
