The Russell County 12U All Star Softball team picked up a victory in the opening round of the Central Region Tournament Sunday, defeating Team Illinois by a score of 6-0.
Pitcher Briley Jo Hardwick finished the game with seven strikeouts, and Camdin Cooper led the way at the plate, hitting an inside the park home run and a triple on the day.
The team will play again at 9 a.m. Monday as they face off against Team Nebraska. You can watch the game live on ESPN+.
