Russell Co. leads many neighboring counties in vaccination rate

Russell County leads most of its neighboring counties in vaccination rate against COVID-19.

As the Delta variant begins to draw concerns, Gov. Andy Beshear is drawing attention to the importance of being vaccinated.

In Russell County, just shy of 45 percent of those 12 and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. That percentage is higher than many neighboring counties, although lower than the state average of about 60 percent.

The following is a look at the percentage of each county’s 12 and older population that has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Russell County: 44.6

Casey County: 33.3

Clinton County: 33.7

Adair County: 34.9

Wayne County: 35.9

Cumberland County: 38.4

Pulaski County: 46.7
