Indoor marijuana growing operation results in arrest in Adair County

On Thursday, July 1st, 2021, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant, obtained through Commonwealth Attorney’s Office Brian Wright, at a residence in the Pellyton community, 17 miles east of Columbia.

During the search numerous pills were located, along with a quantity of processed marijuana and 138 marijuana plants in an indoor grow operation.

The plants, along with equipment used, was confiscated and Carlton Dobson, age 40 of Adair County, was arrested.

Dobson was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on charges of Cultivating Marijuana (over 5 plants), Possession of a Controlled Substance (1st degree drug unspecified) and Possession of Marijuana.

Deputy Kenny Perkins is leading investigation.

He was assisted by Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman, K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten and Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch.
