8th grade students planning to go to Washington D.C.

Russell County Middle School 8th graders typically take a trip to Washington D.C. each spring as a history lesson to visit monuments and other historic attractions.

The last few years, due to COVID-19, students haven’t been able to go on the trip.

However, it seems like 2022 will bring back the return of the 8th Grade Washington D.C. trip.

At the Russell County Board of Education meeting earlier this week, the board approved the application for the out-of-state and overnight trip.

The group is planning to go April 4-8, 2022.

“We’re glad to see this back on the agenda and see this coming back as a return to normalcy,” Superintendent Michael Ford said.
