Russell County falls to Green County (April 19)

The Russell County High School Softball team fell behind 7-0 against Green County Monday night, and nearly came back, cutting the lead to 7-6 but the Lady Lakers ultimately fell short by a score of 10-6.

Caroline Wells, Katie Owens, Payton Kinnett, Addy Davis, and Camryn Woodrum each drove in a run for the Lady Lakers.

Tarryn Reynolds pitched 3 2/3 innings, giving up seven runs on eight hits and striking out one.

Natalie Hart pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on five hits.

The loss moved the Lady Lakers record to 8-2 on the season.

Lady Lakers shut out Casey County (April 17)

Tarryn Reynolds pitched a four-hit shutout Saturday afternoon as the Russell County Lady Lakers defeated Casey County 7-0.

Reynolds struck out three batters and had a big day at the plate, driving in two runs. Sophie Shearer also drove in two runs, while Emma Popplewell and Natalie Hart drove in one run each.

The Lady Lakers finished with 13 hits in the game.

Lady Lakers defeat Taylor County (April 17)

Katie Owens and Emma Popplewell each hit homeruns as the Lady Lakers defeated Taylor County 9-6 Saturday afternoon.

Caroline Wells drove in two runs and Natalie Hart and Camryn Woodrum also drove in a run each to lead Russell County to victory.

Natalie Hart picked up the win on the mound, pitching 5 1/3 innings, giving up five runs on eight hits while striking out three. Tarryn Reynolds entered the game in relief to pick up the save, pitching 1 2/3 innings, giving up just one hit and one run.
