More than 3,200 Russell Countians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19

New data from the CDC shows that more than 3,200 Russell Countians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The CDC’s COVID Data Tracker shows 3,276 Russell County residents have been fully vaccinated as of Thursday morning, meaning they’ve received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

That equates to 18.3 percent of the county’s population, or a little less than 1 out of every 5 individuals.

More than 1,600 Russell County residents who are 65 years of age or older have been fully vaccinated. That’s about 46 percent of the county’s population that falls into that age range.
