Laker JV team defeats Marshall County

The Russell County Lakers JV Baseball team defeated Marshall County Wednesday night by a score of 13-6.

The game was close through the first two innings, with the Lakers holding a 7-6 lead after two, but the Lakers exploded for six runs in the fourth inning to come away with the victory, thanks in part to an inside-the-park grand slam by Alex Reynolds.

Wyatt Dye picked up the win on the mound for the Lakers, pitching three innings in relief while only giving up two hits and striking out two.

Mason Buras got the start for the Lakers, pitching two innings while giving up six runs (2 earned) and allowing four hits.

At the plate, Reynolds led the team with 5 RBI and scoring a run himself. Camden Carpenter and Brady Bell each scored three runs, while Trace Stringer, Landon Walters,  and Aiden Antle scored two runs each.

Walters and Antle each drove in three runs while Carpenter and Bryce Cowell each drove in one.

The Russell County Lakers JV team is now 3-1 on the season.
