The Russell County Lakers, playing their second game of a back-to-back, were defeated by the McCracken County Mustangs Wednesday night.
The Lakers struggled to get much going offensively, only scoring one run en route to a 12-1 loss, bringing the Lakers to 2-2 on the season.
The Lakers fell behind 5-0 early and never recovered, scoring their lone run in the second inning as Evan Hammond scored from third on a ground ball by Gavin Gossage.
Nathan Lawson, Evan Hammond, and Jackson Wilson recorded hits for the Lady Lakers.
Noah Hadley pitched 2 1/3 innings for the Lakers, giving up 9 runs (4 earned), while striking out three and walking three.

The Lakers will play their third game in three days today at 12:30 p.m. as the Lakers take on the Whitley County Colonels.
