Laker Baseball suffers first loss of the season Tuesday night

The Russell County Lakers Baseball team suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday night to Lyon County in McCracken County as part of the Mustang Invitational.

The Lakers went into the bottom of the final inning tied at 7 with the Lyons but the Lyons scored on a walk-off ground ball to left field to pick up the 8-7 win.

Nick Aaron pitched five innings for the Lakers, giving up six runs and striking out six batters. Cody Luttrell entered the game in relief, pitching one inning, giving up two runs and striking out one.

Aaron and Issac Roy each finished with 2 RBI for the Lakers. Evan Hammond finished with two hits and a run scored for the Lakers.

The Lakers return to the field today to take on McCracken County, who enters at 4-0.
