The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team defeated Clinton County on Thursday by a score of 4-3.
The Lady Lakers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, and were able to hang on to pick up a crucial district victory.
Natalie Hart picked up the win on the mound, pitching seven inning and giving up three runs while striking out four batters.
Sophie Shearer had a big day at the plate, going 3-3 and driving in three runs for the Lady Lakers.
Hart finished 2-3 at the plate. Payton Kinnett and Katie Owens also recorded hits for the Lady Lakers.
The win moved the Lady Lakers record to 10-2 on the season, including 3-1 in district play.
