Health Department to resume Johnson & Johnson vaccinations

The Lake Cumberland District Health Department said vaccine clinics will soon resume administering the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines after the CDC and FDA gave approval for the vaccine to be given again.

A pause was placed on the J&J vaccine earlier this month due to concerns that it could cause a rare type of blood clot, but the CDC and FDA have approved the vaccine for those 18 years and older moving forward.

The health department did not say when J&J vaccines would resume. Moderna vaccines are still available through the health department.
