Columbia man flown out following motorcycle accident

On Sunday, April 4, 2021, at approximately 4pmCT, Chief Deputy Justin Cross was dispatched to KY 55 South to a reported motorcycle collision near the Glensfork community.

Upon arrival, Deputy Cross found that a motorcycle had left the roadway with its operator ejected.

Preliminary investigation shows that Jacob Stotts of Columbia was operating a 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle when he dropped off the shoulder of the highway. Stotts then struck a tile, causing him to lose control and be ejected from the bike.

He was treated on scene by Adair County EMS, then airlifted to University of Louisville for additional treatment.

The Adair County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.
