Adair County man arrested last week on multiple warrants

On Wednesday, March 3 at around midnight, Adair County Sheriff’s Deputy Derek Padgett and Chief Deputy Justin Cross received information that a man wanted on several felony warrants was hiding at a location off of Lether Burton Road, nine miles east of Columbia.

In addition, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office had a signed felony warrant for the man’s arrest, stemming from an event just weeks earlier, where Deputy Chandler Staten observed him in a vehicle and attempted to stop him. At that time, the man fled out KY 61 South, leading deputies in a high speed pursuit. The identity of the driver was known, and the vehicle pursuit was ultimately terminated due to unsafe road conditions and concerns for public safety.

During a search of the Lether Burton Road location on Wednesday, deputies were able to locate the man hiding in a garage. He was taken into custody, and during a subsequent search of his person, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located.

Jonathon Dickson, 25, of Columbia, was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by Deputy Padgett, and was charged with:
1 Possession of controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine
2 Possession of drug paraphernalia
3 3 Outstanding felony warrants for his arrest
4 State Parole Board violation warrant
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.
