James Russell Butler, age 76, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, Ky.
He was born on November 10, 1943 in Jefferson County, Ky to the late Phillip & Mildred Scholl Butler.
He was a retired teacher from the Russell County School System and a member of the Russell Springs First United Methodist Church.

7 grandchildren: Christopher Jadon (Whitney) Henson, Bailey Chance (Katelyn) Henson, Audry Madeline Henson, Chloe Elizabeth Henson, Auburn Bly Butler, James Elliott Butler, and Sterling Clay Butler.
Brother: Ronald (Nina) Butler, Jamestown
Memorial service for James Russell Butler will be at 12:00 pm Saturday, August 22nd, 2020 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Kingry officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm Saturday
Bernard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
