Friday, July 31st brought about retirement for the longest serving police chief in modern times for the City of Russell Springs as Chief Joe Michael Irvin retired from the police department after 24 years of service. For his final 10-7 and sign off of duty around 4 o’clock Friday afternoon, the local 911 dispatch, along with his wife Tracy and daughter Rebecca, had messages for him.
