Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts Allison Ball recently released her report on the Russell County Sheriff’s Office for the sheriff’s tax settlement for 2022-2023.
This audit showed no instances of noncompliance and no matters of internal control, according to the report.
Ball’s report stated the sheriff’s financial statement fairly presents the taxes charged, credited, and paid from Sept. 1, 2022 to Aug. 31, 2023.
In compliance with state law, the state auditor releases two sheriff audit reports each year: one for the sheriff’s tax account and the other for the fee account used to operate the office.
