COVID-19 Cases Continue to Increase

The number of new COVID-19 cases in Kentucky yesterday was the second highest single-day increase since the pandemic began.   State officials announced yesterday 371 news cases in the state, pushing the statewide total to at least 17,519.   Nine more Kentuckians with the virus have died, bringing the death toll to 602.

Here locally, three new cases were reported yesterday, bringing the county’s total active cases to 20….of those 20 total cases, 14 have been confirmed in the last six days.

15 news cases were reported yesterday in the Lake Cumberland District Health Department region.   In addition to the three new cases in Russell County, there were 5 new cases in Adair County and 5 new cases yesterday in Casey County.
