Our top story today…the question has been answered. School will start in Russell County on August 26th. Meeting last night, the school board approved unanimously the recommendation of Superintendent Michael Ford for the amended school calendar…
Superintendent Ford mentioned that state officials were still working on guidelines for schools to consider when classes resume. Ford emphasized that although there would be necessary changes in many areas in the school system, his goal was to resume school as normal as possible.
In other action at last night’s board meeting, the board renewed its insurance policies for property, general liability, and fleet insurance.
The board renewed with McKinney and Blair Insurance and Grider Insurance to provide coverage thru Liberty Mutual.
The board also adopted pay schedule for employees for the upcoming school year, accepted and approved principals’ budgets, and approved various contracts.
