Voters across Kentucky will select a Democratic and Republican nominee for United States Senator. On the Republican side, incumbent Senator Mitch McConnell seeks a historic seventh term with nominal challenges. On the Democratic side, several Democrats are seeking their parties’ nomination to face McConnell in the fall.
Locally, only one race on the ballot, where Josh Branscum and Mark Polston both seeking the office of State Representative for the 83rd district, which comprises Russell, Clinton, Cumberland, and a portion of Pulaski county. The winner of the primary will be unopposed in November.
Questions linger, confusion reigns for many on how to cast a ballot. Later this morning on “All Things Russell”, join Tony Kerr and Jeff Hoover as they will talk with Kentucky’s Secretary of State Michael Adams about the changes in voting and how they are being implemented across the state. That program will begin at 8 o’clock this morning here on WJRS
