Seven in Jamestown…nine in Russell Springs.
Those are the number of persons seeking a position in each town on the six-person city councils.
In Jamestown, all six incumbents, Regina Hinton, Mitchell Marcum, Larry Joe Murray, Terry Robertson, Tony Wright, and Barry Coffey are all seeking re-election.
Larry Appleby, Sr. is the 7th candidate for a position on the council. In Russell Springs, incumbent council members Sherry Bottom-Daniel, Larry Skaggs, David Blakey,
Ricky Barnes, Tommy Holt, and Timmy Hudson are each seeking re-election. Three others hope to gain a seat on the Russell Springs council. Those three are Brandon Wilson, Jeff Padilla, and Ray Barrett.
The top six vote getters in the November election will make up the city council in each town.
