No New COVID-19 Cases in RC, One New in Adair with an Additional Death Thursday

Russell County once again went another day with no new positive cases of COVID-19, making it the third day in a row according to County Judge Gary Robertson who made the announcement Thursday evening.

Russell County remains at a total of 16 cases with eight of those released from self-isolation and two deaths. There are now six active cases which are either on home or nursing home isolation.

Neighboring Adair County had one new positive case of the Coronavirus, the new case is a resident of Summit Manor Nursing Home. Adair also reported one new death as well. Adair county has now had a total of 65 cases with 6 being released from isolation and 6 deaths. There are now 53 active cases with 38 in home or Summit Manor isolation and 15 in area hospitals.

There were 161 new cases confirmed across the state on Thursday, which Governor Andy Beshear said was actually good because more people are being tested. Six additional deaths reported, bringing the death toll to 191. Beshear said that 86 of the state’s 191 COVID-19 related deaths are from nursing home.
