Lady Lakers fall to Cumberland County in district tournament

The Lady Laker Softball team saw its season come to an end last night, falling 9-1 to Cumberland County in the 16th District tournament.

The game was close through the first half of the game, with the Lady Panthers holding a 2-1 lead after 3 innings, but the Lady Panthers scored 7 runs in the 4th inning to secure the lead and the win.

Jaylee Roy, Addie Davis, and Rylen McGowan each finished with a hit for Russell County, with McGowan driving in Russell County’s lone run.

The Lady Lakers see their season come to an end with a final record of 19-15. a 10-win improvement from last season.
