Russell County Judge Executive Gary Robertson announced on Thursday evening that Russell County now has its second confirmed case of the Novel Coronavirus. The first case was announced on Wednesday. Reports also surfaced Thursday night of a possible third case of the virus in Adair County.

Cabinet Secretary J. Michael Brown announced that 743 additional inmates within six months of completion of their sentences could also be released as soon as next week.
