A Russell County man was arrested in Adair County on Friday morning following a traffic stop.
According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, just after 3:00 am Friday, Sheriff’s Deputy Derek Padgett initiated a traffic stop on a 2000 Cadillac on Adventist Church Road.
Following a roadside investigation, Skylar Riggins, age 24, of Russell Springs was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine consistent with trafficking. Riggins was also wanted on a parole warrant and was in possession of marijuana.
Riggins was arrested at the scene and charged with, trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree methamphetamine, Possession of marijuana, Parole violation warrant, Promoting contraband.
Riggins was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
Deputy Padgett was assisted at the scene by Columbia Police Officer John Dial along with his K9 partner.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.
