County Officials Monitoring Areas Below Wolf Creek Dam

The Russell County Emergency Management Office and the Russell County Judge Executive’s Office received information on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from the US Army Corp of Engineers concerning a probability of future rising water that could impact residents in the area of Ray Mann Road, River View Drive, and Little Indian Drive below Wolf Creek Dam. Releases are not anticipated to impact any other locations at this time. They are not expecting these releases to be anything near last year’s flooding. Access for residents in this location could be affected. There is a high probability that this will happen in the coming days or weeks, so we want to assure the residents in this area that we will keep them informed as we receive additional information. Also, we will maintain a detour that was used last year during the flooding that is located between Little Indian Drive and Kauffman Road off of Ray Mann Road.

H.M. Bottom, Emergency Management Director, can be reached at 270-585-1416 and Judge Executive Gary D. Robertson can be reached at 270-343-2112 or 270-566-3205.
