The Russell County Chamber of Commerce Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup project begins this morning at 10 am and the chamber is still looking for volunteers to help out. The chamber’s two-mile stretch runs from the intersection of highways 80 and 127 down to the end of Lakeway Drive. Safety vests and garbage bags can be picked up at the Chamber office on today. Trash bags are to be left on site and will be picked up by the State Road Department. Anyone participating will need to bring a pair of gloves and wear closed-toe shoes. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult. If you would still like to participate, call the chamber this morning at 270-866-4303.
