Jamestown Fire Chief Jeff Landers wants citizens to be aware of a phone scam that is circulating throughout the state.
Callers are saying they are with the Kentucky Firefighters Association and are attempting to obtain donations. The Kentucky Firefighters Association does no solicitation over the phone for any reason and neither do any of the local fire departments, according to Landers.
If you are experiencing these types of calls, hang up and do not give the caller any personal information. If you experience this type of scam, contact local authorities and report it to them.
