The Russell Springs Fire Department was called out early Sunday morning to a structure fire.
According to Fire Chief H.M. Bottom, the department responded just after 1:00 am to Holt Lane to a residence belonging to Gary Holt that was completely engulfed in flames as they arrived on scene. Due to their quick response time they were able to prevent a nearby structure from receiving more than minor damage from the flames.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time according to Bottom, firemen were on scene for about two and a half hours.
