Crews respond to boat fire at State Dock

Fire crews with the Jamestown and South Russell Fire Departments responded to a boat fire at State Dock early Sunday morning.

Crews were called out at about 1 a.m. Sunday in response to a boat on fire near the 300 slip area.

The owners of the boat were reportedly able to escape into the lake and avoid injury.

The boat eventually sank and there was damage to the slip, other boats, and dock items.

Firefighters were on scene for about three hours. No injuries were reported from the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
