Laker Sports Report for Monday, September 28th

***The Russell County Laker football team improved to 3 and 0 on the young season Friday night, defeating Warren Central in Bowling Green, 63 to 22.   The Lakers will be on the road this Friday night when they travel to Franklin to take on Franklin-Simpson.   Kickoff set for 7 o’clock Friday and you can hear all the action with Tony Kerr and Josh Branscum on Laker Country 1049 WJRS, with pregame starting at 6:30.

***The Laker Boys golf team closed out their regular season on Saturday with an impressive victory in the Pulaski County Invitational at Eagles Nest Country Club.   The Lakers finished first out of 11 teams.   Senior Clay Anderson led the Lakers with a 75, for 4th place overall.   Bentley Perkenson had a 78, for 10th overall.   Dru Stapp shot an 81, Nick Blakey an 84, Josh Glover an 83, and Kole Rixon had a 99.   The Laker golf team will begin 4th Region play on Monday in Bardstown.

***The Lady Laker volleyball team will be at home Monday night for a district matchup against Metcalfe county.  JV game starts at 5 o’clock at Laker gym.

***The Laker girls soccer team will play at home on Monday night against Green County.   The match will get underway at 6 o’clock.   The girls soccer team will also be at home on Tuesday night at 5:30 against Clinton County.

***On Saturday, the 6th grade girls basketball team was in action against Metcalfe county.   The Lady Lakers won both games, 31 to 7 and 51 to 7.   McKenna Ccamaque had 6 points in the first game and Carrigan Carpenter had 12 points.   The RCMS girls 7th and 8th grade teams will be at Wayne County Monday night, first game starting at 5 o’clock.
