There will be a newcomer on the ballot in November for a seat on the Russell County school board.
James Gray filed his papers yesterday seeking to represent District 5 on the school board. Gray will face Gerald Murray, who is currently serving his second term as school board member in District 5.
Gray is a long-time employee of the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery and has been very involved in the Catch A Rainbow Fishing Derby held each year for kids.
Two more candidates have filed for City Council in Jamestown. Incumbent Regina Hinton has filed for another term. Larry Appleby has also filed for a city council seat.
The deadline to file for persons interested in seeking office is Tuesday, June 2nd at 4 o’clock.
