A proposal to purchase 60 acres of land to build a multi-sport complex has been rejected by the Russell County Industrial Development Authority.
WJRS NEWS has confirmed through, at least two elected officials, that John Adams with the Woodland Foundation went before the Industrial Development Authority Tuesday morning and offered $10,000,000 to be paid at $1,000,000 per year for 10 years to purchase property owned by the Industrial Development Authority.
Adams reportedly proposed to build a multi-sport complex on the 60 acres of land in the French Valley community.
WJRS NEWS was told the Industrial Development Authority rejected the offer.
WJRS NEWS reached out to Clint Voils, chairperson of the IDA, but has not yet received a return call or response.
