More than 120 boats participated in the 20th annual Lake Cumberland Poker Run presented by State Dock over the weekend.
Russell County Tourism Director Danielle Wilson told WJRS NEWS it is nearly impossible to determine the total number of spectators, but spectator boats were reported throughout the lake.
Wilson said big events such as the annual Poker Run provide a unique opportunity for her office to promote the many attractions Russell County has to offer “off the water”.

Colonel Jeremy McQueary, director of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ Law Enforcement Division, described the weekend as “an average year in comparison to last year’s event.”
Fish and Wildlife officers made multiple arrests for boating under the influence and issued citations for moving violations. Officers also investigated multiple boating accidents near Ramsey Point.
McQueary said no fatalities or serious injuries connected to this year’s Poker Run were reported.
