The Russell Springs City Council unanimously approved the city’s 2026 taxing ordinance during its regular monthly meeting Thursday evening.
Under the new rates, city residents will pay slightly less in taxes on real estate and other personal property. Those rates will decrease from 14.2 cents per 100 dollars of assessed value in 2025 to 13.9 cents in 2026.
The motor vehicle tax rate will remain unchanged at 17 cents per 100 dollars of assessed value.
Russell Springs city tax rates have now decreased slightly in seven of the past eight years.
