More than three dozen local first responders took part in a landing-zone safety and security training Tuesday evening at the Russell County Airport.
The two-hour session was hosted by Air Methods, which operates Air Methods 15 from the airport. Training focused on safely establishing landing zones at or near emergency scenes and protecting first responders and nearby citizens during medical helicopter operations.
The 38 participants represented the Jamestown, Russell Springs and Eli volunteer fire departments, along with Russell County EMS.
