The Jamestown City Council approved three resolutions and met in executive session during its regular monthly meeting Thursday evening.
The first resolution renews a recently expired grant application to the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority. If approved, the funding would help the city’s water department transition from using chlorine to bleach in its water treatment process.
Council members also approved a resolution related to the County Employees Retirement System as part of the process to re-establish hazardous duty retirement benefits for Jamestown police officers.
The third resolution expresses the city’s support for the Active Living Master Plan to continue working toward the construction of sidewalks connecting Jamestown and Russell Springs. The proposed sidewalk project is designed to complement the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s plans for several roundabouts along the U.S. 127 corridor between the two cities.
The council also spent approximately 25 minutes in executive session to discuss the proposed sale of property. When the regular meeting resumed, Mayor Regena Hinton announced that no action was taken during the closed session.
