Community Blood Drive Wednesday Morning at Russell County Hospital

A community blood drive this week at Russell County Hospital will help ensure lifesaving blood is available for patients locally and across the region.

The Kentucky Blood Center will host the drive Wednesday, July 8, from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Russell County Hospital. Eric Lindsey with the Kentucky Blood Center says donated blood is something that simply can’t be replaced.

Lindsey says community blood drives play a critical role in maintaining an adequate blood supply for local hospitals and patients throughout Kentucky.

Lindsey also explains who is eligible to donate and encourages anyone who meets the guidelines to consider giving blood.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments may also be scheduled by visiting kybloodcenter.org. Again, that community blood drive will be held this Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Russell County Hospital.
