Area rainfall totals from yesterday

Nearly 8.5 inches of rainfall were recorded at the Cumberland County mesonet station yesterday.

That was the most rainfall recorded at any mesonet station in the state yesterday.

Clinton County wasn’t far behind, coming in at just under 8 inches of rainfall.

Just under 5.25 inches of rainfall were recorded at the Metcalfe County station.

Locally, Russell County recorded just over 0.8 inches of rain yesterday.

Casey County, which has been dealing with extreme drought conditions, saw about 1/3 of an inch of rain yesterday. However, the Casey County station recorded over 3.25 inches of rain from Friday through yesterday.
